Description

The project brings together students from 1A and 2A (typically 8 students, at least as many or more from 1A as from 2A), with different roles around a subject of their choice validated by the supervisors.
This project is an introduction for engineering students to project teamwork in the school's teaching areas. It enables them to pass on the baton and transfer knowledge between classes, to exchange multi-disciplinary knowledge, to broaden their knowledge, and to integrate within and between classes.

The expectations are different.

For 1A students: more involved in documentation, implementation, development and testing.
For the 2As: more in the identification of the need/problem, the engineering, the right sizing of the possible concrete action and its added value, the steering of teams and the management of the project to achieve the agreed objective.

The aim is to identify a problem and, with the contribution of the 1A students, concretely achieve an objective agreed with the supervisors (pre-study, study or development) enabling progress to be made on the subject. The 2As are the project leaders, in a position of technical management, they must identify a problem and, with the contribution of the 1A students, concretely achieve an objective agreed with the supervisors (pre-study, study or development) enabling progress to be made on the subject. To do this, they must work together to apply the project management and development techniques studied the previous year, and share their knowledge.

Procedure:
The TransPromotion project brings together 1A and 2A students (6 to 8 students/project, balance between 1A and 2A) with different roles around a topic of their choice (new, unique, exclusive project, possibility of collaborating with clients outside ENSC). The aim is to work as a team on a concrete subject and deliver a detailed study (problem, need, approach, solution). Progress is monitored by means of deliverables and/or a project management tool, and by meetings attended by the supervising teachers. A presentation of the role of the 2As in TransPromotion projects and project management tools will be given at the very start of the semester (2h class).

A/ A summary document specifying the main objectives and participants is validated by the supervisors, announcing the planned work contract (milestones, deliverables).

B/ An interim progress report is made at
(1) an 8-minute oral presentation (in-class or remote) (including the time required to load the presentation file), followed by a short discussion (on form) led by the teachers and any comments circulated by e-mail and
(2) a peer evaluation (1 group evaluates 2 projects) using a skills evaluation grid.

C/ The project is assessed by a panel of judges
(1) on the basis of a deliverable comprising an assessment video and a summary technical report;
(2) at the final oral defense (approx. 15 minutes, followed by discussion) conducted by 2 presenters chosen at random (1 1A student and 1 2A student).

Grading: by group (*) in first session
Grading by evaluation of all performances and deliverables (attendance compulsory).
Note: (*) in the event of disparity in group involvement, the jury may award an individual assessment. There is no second session for this module. Justified absences validated in accordance with the regulations will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by the teachers and the jury.
