Description
Connected Autonomous Vehicle Option
What is an autonomous and connected vehicle (ACV)?
- Autonomous: vehicle capable of performing maneuvers and driving-related tasks without driver intervention.
- Connected: vehicle capable of communicating with its occupants and with external elements
Why Connected Autonomous Vehicles?
- Free the driver from the task of driving
- Providing transportation for all
- Improving safety, reducing accidents
- Reduce journey times, improve traffic flow
- Reducing environmental impact and energy consumption

Objectives
Connected Autonomous Vehicle Option
Contribute to the development of a functional architecture for autonomous vehicles. Associated projects will target one or more of the following scientific objectives:
- Designing a new architectural function
- Designing alternative methods for an existing function
- Improve or complete one or more methods of an existing function
- Combine a set of functions into modules and test them
- Assemble and test a set of layered modules
- Assemble the layers to form the complete functional architecture and test it
The projects have the following pedagogical objectives:
- Working in a team
- Organize and allocate individual and group tasks
- Argue the choices made to meet scientific objectives
- Communicate progress and results
- Evaluating the work of peers
