Description
This module covers the approaches and tools used by companies and organizations to plan, measure, monitor and communicate their environmental and social impacts:
i) Corporate environmental responsibility (CSR),
ii) the implementation of a carbon footprint according to the methodology developed by Ademe,
iii) Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. These tools are covered in their entirety in the form of tutorials and practical exercises, using a variety of media (company documents, presentation materials, videos) as well as application exercises and projects.
The module alternates between supervised sessions with a teacher and independent project work.
Objectives
With regard to CSR: decipher the development of corporate environmental and CSR policies, analyze corporate annual reports on ecological and societal transition issues, formulate opinions and proposals for improvement, mobilize tools for improving and assessing the environmental quality of a product or service.
Carbon footprinting: understanding and applying ADEME's methodology for quantifying greenhouse gas emissions, defining the scope of the study, collecting and analyzing data, defining and implementing an action plan.
Concerning the implementation of an LCA: understanding and applying an LCA by means of application exercises on the analysis of a system: the ENSEGID geothermal doublet.
