Objectives
Be able to:
- describe the spectroscopic techniques used in industry,
- explain their theoretical and experimental bases,
- implement a spectroscopic analysis in the field of materials.
Teaching hours
- CIIntegrated courses18,67h
- PRACTICAL WORKPractical work6h
Mandatory prerequisites
- Knowledge of atomistics and wave optics,
- Notions of group theory.
Syllabus
Industrial context
Principles, technologies and industrial applications of optical spectroscopy: atomic absorption, atomic emission, UV-visible molecular absorption spectroscopy, infrared absorption spectroscopy, Raman scattering.
This part is illustrated by two practical sessions (6h).
The course is rounded off with an introduction to XPS and AUGER spectroscopy (principles, equipment and applications) as part of a presentation of the Aquitaine materials characterization platform (1h30).
