Description

Very often today, the physical systems to be controlled operate in continuous time, while the control laws are implemented in digital equipment operating in discrete time.

  • Continuous: time t can take on any real value
  • Discrete: time k.Te, k∈N can only take values

Servo systems (process + control law) are therefore very often hybrid systems combining continuous and discrete time.
