Description

At the end of this course, students will have acquired the basic notions of Thermodynamics, enabling them to tackle the study of concrete problems addressed in other modules: electricity and cold production, heat transfer in heat exchangers, chemical equilibria, etc ......
Mainly, therefore, the aim is to:
- Understand the basic concepts of thermodynamics, enabling us to describe the behavior of a thermodynamic system (e.g., the behavior of a gas during compression, the characteristics of a change of state, etc.). for example)
- Understand the 1st principle of Thermodynamics and be able to draw up an energy balance for a given system (particularly open systems) + clearly distinguish between the energy and power requirements of an installation
- Understand the 2nd principle of Thermodynamics and understand why the free enthalpy function G is of interest, particularly for the study and description of phase changes and chemical equilibria
- Understand the basis of the thermochemical formalism and how to use it in a rudimentary way.
