Description
On completion of the course, students will be able to take part in the design or diagnosis of a control system.
This implies being able to:
describe the general operation of a control system,
identify and validate a dynamic model of process behavior,
define the parameters of a control system according to expected performance,
test and validate a control system,
engage in constructive dialogue with the various parties involved in a project of this type.
Teachers aim to:
raise awareness of the issues involved in process control,
help students understand the basic principles of modeling and control, and make them aware of their importance,
familiarize students with modeling and control methods and tools.
Teaching hours

Mandatory prerequisites
First-year courses on digital and IT tools
Second-year courses on instrumentation, signal processing and modeling
Second-year courses on modeling and process control
Syllabus
Practical work involves carrying out a project to operate a pilot plant, applying the concepts covered in the Process Modeling and Control course (Module: PC8MCPRO). (Module: PC8MCPRO).
In pairs, students are provided with a pilot process, a PC computer with its data acquisition system (Labview software) and MATLAB development software.
They are responsible for managing their project within the allotted time (16 hours), developing the approach from modeling to regulation.
