Description
The aim of the practical work is to illustrate the various heat transfers (conduction, convection, radiation) and the main laws of fluid mechanics (Bernoulli, pressure drop). This practical work enables you to verify these fundamental laws and understand the differences between these models and real phenomena (perfect fluids, for example).
Teaching hours
- PRACTICAL WORKPractical work8h
Mandatory prerequisites
Prerequisites include knowledge of the usual mathematical tools (gradient and divergence). Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer are taught in the same semester.
Syllabus
Practical exercises are carried out over 2 sessions, while 4 practical exercises are available. Students will therefore take 1 Fluid Mechanics practical course and 1 heat transfer practical course.
TP Diffusivimeter and natural convection around a cylinder
TP Forced convection
TP Flow in a pipe (definition of a pressure drop)
TP Singular pressure drops
