Description
Master the use of a chromatography device (gas or liquid),
Consider the parameters to be taken into account to set up a chromatographic analysis
Master the immediate analysis and separation of a simple mixture,
Prepare a sample,
Identify and measure the constituents of a mixture.
Teaching hours
- PRACTICAL WORKPractical work12h
Mandatory prerequisites
Chromatographic chemical analysis course: module 1A S6
Syllabus
Each student will work in pairs with one of his or her colleagues for 4 sessions, during which he or she will be able to apply the various chromatographic techniques seen in class: gas chromatography, thin-layer chromatography, open-column liquid chromatography with TLC follow-up of collected samples, high-performance liquid chromatography.
Students will learn to:
Operate the various types of equipment,
Prepare samples,
Use different chromatographic media,
Set up the various parameters that govern a separation,
See the influence of different mobile phases,
Identify and determine the constituents of a mixture.
carry out a quantitative analysis
CPG: (4h) separation and identification of the constituents of a mixture
Principle of dosing a constituent
HPLC: (4h) separation and identification of the constituents of a mixture - Influence of the wavelength - use of a diode-rod UV - Influence of the nature of the mobile phase
Principle of dosing a constituent.
Open column: separation of a mixture obtained after an organic synthesis on a silica column. Follow-up of the separation. Check the purity and composition of each compound obtained. Separation efficiency.
