Description
This module introduces students to the specific advantages of various embedded computing platforms for signal processing. This discovery is made through specific projects (objective/hardware platform associations) and cross-presentations between students.

The module explores the pros and cons of different platform targets for embedded signal processing in the context of a healthcare system. This comparison work will be performed as concurrent hands-on projects with binoms studying different processing platforms or different processing objectives.

Objectives
At the end of the project, students will be able to:
- understand the specificities of signals from living environments;
- anticipate the problems inherent in real-time processing;
- adapt processing algorithms and the computing platform to achieve a result.

At the end of the module, the students will have acquired knowledge in:
* choosing a relevant platform target based on system requirements;
* implementing digital signal processing onto the chosen platform;
* anticipating real-time processing issues.
