The aim of this course is to present the main families of approaches to image segmentation, i.e. the partitioning of an image into different zones each representing a characteristic object, as well as the basics of mathematical morphology applied to images.

Syllabus

The first part of the course deals with segmentation.1/ General Definitions Place of segmentation in a processing chain2/ Segmentation of regions Seuillage Division/Merge Markovian models Growth around a seed Watershed 3/ Segmentation of contours Generality of derivative methods Masks of Sobel, Prewitt, Kirch MDIF, NAGDIF operators Laplacian and other second-order filters Canny filter Deriche operator The second part of the course deals with morphology.
