Description

ENSEIRB-MATMECA is offering an "ingénieur-docteur" (doctoral engineer) course for engineering students who want to get involved in scientific research and its applications, in order to encourage RetD vocations and facilitate doctoral studies (doctoral thesis). The aim of the "ingénieur-docteur" course is to promote and enhance the value of research among engineering students, and to demonstrate the importance of research and the need to develop high-level scientific expertise.
The "Introduction to research" module is part of the "ingénieur-docteur" curriculum. It aims to develop bibliographical skills through the reading of a scientific article (conference, journal, book chapter, etc.) supervised by a researcher, the production of a bibliographical synthesis and an oral presentation of this.

Research articles are written in English. A good understanding of written English is required.

Syllabus


beginning of semester: choice of an article from a list proposed by researchers from the laboratory concerned
throughout the semester:

reading and comprehension of the article, supervised by the researcher who proposed the selected article.
participation in the seminar: partial presentations of the articles and discussions with the other students taking the course, and the teacher in charge.


end of semester: writing of a synthesis (4-5 pages) and oral presentation.
