Description


Recognition of student involvement in social, associative or personal life
Each student-engineer may apply for validation of the skills, knowledge and aptitudes he or she has acquired through the following activities:

voluntary activity within an association,
activity promoting the school or establishment,
involvement in the service of the school or establishment,
professional activity,
military activity in the operational reserve,
volunteer firefighter commitment,
civic service,
volunteer service in the armed forces,
participation in the boards of the establishment and schools, other higher education establishments or regional centers for university and school works.

A student commitment is considered to be of a very high level when a student-engineer has duties/missions involving administrative, financial and/or penal responsibilities in the performance of his/her activities. A very high level of involvement must also include a supervisory and leadership aspect.
The optional student involvement module is graded out of 20 points, giving a maximum bonus of 2 points/20 on the average for the UE (Langues et culture de l'ingénieur). The mark obtained for this module cannot be deducted from the average mark for the UE (Langues et culture de l'ingénieur).

Mandatory prerequisites


The student-engineer must apply to the director of his or her department for validation. The first step is to write a 5-10 page report detailing the skills acquired. Then, in an individual defense, they will summarize and illustrate the skills they have acquired through their student commitment.
The skills acquired must be in line with those expected in the UE (Langues et culture de l'ingénieur):

Ability to integrate into an organization, to lead and develop it: commitment and leadership, project management, project ownership, communication with specialists and non-specialists alike.
Consideration of industrial, economic and professional issues: competitiveness and productivity, innovation, intellectual and industrial property, compliance with quality and safety procedures.
Ability to work in an international context: fluency in one or more foreign languages, security, economic intelligence, cultural openness, international experience.
Respect for societal values: knowledge of labor relations, environment and sustainable development, ethics.
