Description

Next-generation networks have become increasingly complex, interconnecting different technologies and architectures (IP, WiFi, 3G, 4G LTE and 5G) across multiple hardware and software platforms to deliver a multitude of services (data, telephony, video broadcasting, videoconferencing, etc.). These new network technologies have enabled a spectacular increase in capacity, particularly for access. In this context, the advent of connected objects, the IoT and robotics will increase the attack surface from a security point of view, and make it more difficult to detect and correct threats. Cyber-attacks are increasingly complex to identify and deal with. Their designs benefit in part from leaks from government and military technologies (e.g. CIA / NSA tools) and advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data. The aim of this course is to review the various network architectures and their evolution towards next-generation, multi-service networks. Quality of service (QoS), cellular networks (GSM, 3G, 4G) and network security (security of connected objects / IoT) will also be covered.
