Description
Acquire a basic understanding of the mechanical behavior of materials, and in particular the relationship between the mechanical properties studied and the microstructure of materials and their defects. Initiate an understanding of the physical mechanisms that cause or accompany deformation, leading to macroscopic mechanical effects and fracture mechanisms.
