Description

This course develops the fundamental and practical aspects of the design, properties and production of multi-materials (composite, sandwich, cellular and architectural materials). It is based on active learning through problems and projects.
On completion of the "Composite materials and multi-materials" course, students in the 2nd year of the "materials engineer by apprenticeship" program will be able to:

describe the world of multi-materials, categorize them, define the different classes of multi-materials and discuss their properties and applications,

estimate the properties of a composite material from its basic constituents,

identify the main fibrous reinforcements and describe their properties and production methods,

describe the different production and shaping processes for composite materials.
