Description
Sizing of thin structures
Master various theories and models of beams and plates to analyze the mechanical response of thin structures (stiffened panels - wings, fuselages, train carriages, etc.)
Interpretation of analytical/numerical results in the advanced project phase (preliminary design + detailed analysis).
Sizing assemblies
Mastering analytical and numerical models for the mechanical analysis of bonded assemblies (Volkersen, Goland and Reissner, cohesive zone models)
Predicting the mechanical strength of a bonded assembly using theories based on beam and plate models (Hart-Smith, Fraisse and Schmit)
