Description
The aim is to present the tools needed to simulate rapid mechanical phenomena. The target application is the dimensioning of structures subjected to shocks and crashes.
The points covered are as follows:
- Effects of high stress speeds on the different classes of materials - Elastoviscoplastic behavior laws commonly used - Notions of large deformations - Testing and measurement resources available for characterizing materials (Hopkinson bars, fast jacks, etc.) and for verifying behavior (drop wells, etc.) - Discretization of the continuous problem and equations of motion.Discretization of the continuous problem and equations of motion - Solving schemes (explicit/implicit comparison) - Finite elements commonly used in crashing - Learning RADIOSS software (in the form of practical calculations)
