Description
The aim of this module is to train students in numerical simulation for fluid mechanics and energetics, using the Fluent calculation code. The first phase involves supervised practical exercises, followed by a project in which students carry out a numerical study on a topic of their choice (subject to validation by their supervisors).
Objectives
- Practice the various stages of numerical simulation of a fluid mechanics/energetics problem.
- Learn to use the Fluent calculation code.
- Learn how to create suitable meshes.
- Apply the validation process to concrete cases.
- Carry out and report on a mechanical study using digital simulation.

Syllabus
- 1 introductory lecture on numerical simulation for fluid mechanics (CFD)
- 7 supervised practical sessions to discover Fluent and the numerical simulation of fluid flows
- 1 project: independent work + 3 coaching sessions
- 1 report + 1 project presentation
