Description

The aim of this course is to present the physics of free-surface flows and to study them using appropriate mathematical models, derived from the MF courses in S6 and S7.
The course is divided into three parts:

1 - capillary scale: surface tension, bubbles, drops, cavitation, Rayleigh-Plesset equation
2 - surface waves: waves, linearization of Navier-Stokes equations
3 - river flows: torrential and fluvial regimes, eddies, Barré de Saint-Venant equations.
