Description

3 lessons of 4 hours each are devoted to an introduction to microsystems and associated markets, a presentation of the principles of classic microsystems, and manufacturing technologies: Lithography - Doping - Deposition - Etching - Miscellaneous: Molding, Soldering, Active Materials - Microsystems: Current Problems and Surface Characterization. The presentation of manufacturing technologies is an opportunity to raise awareness and discuss the environmental impact of manufacturing (depending on the process used - silicon-type technologies, organic or "green" processes) and the end-of-life management of devices (materials / fluids (including water) / energy used, waste management, etc.). 3 other sessions are held in the technology center (TAMIS) of the IMS laboratory - building A31, during which students, in groups of 6, put into practice the lectures of the 3 modules of the UE. These sessions illustrate technologies for producing printed circuits on conventional glass-epoxy substrates (lead-free and no-clean solder cream screen printing, reflow techniques, surface-mounted components), hybrid circuits on alumina, and bare-chip microassembly (wire bonding). One of these sessions is devoted to SEM analysis of microassemblies.
