Make students autonomous in their search for information.
Discovery and knowledge of Bordeaux's documentary environment (libraries, catalogs, ENT, encyclopedias, "press" bouquet, bdd, etc.).

Students should be able to:

understand the documentary process (choosing key words, building a search)
select the tools best suited to their subject
know how to access and locate primary information
know how to draw up a documentary process
know how to draw up a bibliography in accordance with international standards (NF Z44-005, NF ISO 690-2) and understand its value.

Syllabus

Documentary research based on a project topic
Handling of documentary tools (catalogs, encyclopedias, databases, electronic journals, etc.), during practical work
Handling of various databases (Scopus, Inspec, FSTA, etc.).)

Handling of local and national catalogs
Handling of electronic journals

Each tool is explained in detail (how to search, display results, retrieve results, etc.).

Writing a bibliography in accordance with NF Z44-005 and NF ISO 690-2 (what is a bibliography for, what information should be provided, how to write it).
