Syllabus
General accounting:
- Balance sheet and income statement concepts: construction of the balance sheet, major items and overall construction of the income statement.
- Concepts of depreciation and provisions: the difference between depreciation and provisions and calculations of straight-line and declining-balance depreciation. Some examples of flow movements (notion of debit, credit, the notion of double entry)
- Transactions relating to depreciation, inventories, payroll, customer and supplier invoices, etc...
- How to draw up a projected income statement?
- The concept of self-financing capacity, based on income and E.B.E.
- The concept of the financing plan and the cash flow plan.
- Using accounting data: The concept of profitability, definition and components to be taken into account. Calculation of break-even point and the notion of variable and fixed costs.
- Analysis of accounting documents: Image of the company's situation and taxable and actual profit.
- How is profit generated?
- The 9 intermediate management balances, their construction from the income statement, and the meaning and ratios of analysis.
- Notions of cash flow: Use of balance sheet elements and the balances to be respected.
- The difference between working capital and working capital requirement: overall net working capital (balances to be respected) and operating working capital requirement (financing operations, its components and the calculation method).
- Normative working capital requirement: Application (working capital requirement when launching a new product), the run-off time of an item and calculation of the structure coefficient.
