Description
Develop a multidisciplinary field approach, integrating ecology, geology and hydrology. Diverse geological contexts are traversed on a profile from the Lac de Salagou to the Massif du Vigan: sedimentary formations, volcanism, basement, with the aim of characterizing the effect of geological control on hydrology (channelization), hydrogeology (aquifers) and ecology (series of plant communities). Field measurement methods will be covered in all three specialties.
Teaching hours
- TDTTutored Field Work24h
Syllabus
The field school takes the form of semi-autonomous field workshops:
Geological mapping at Salagou (sedimentary and volcanic series)
Vegetation mapping followed by interpretation on volcanic controls
Hydrological characterization (currentometry, piezometry, permeability tests)
Mapping
