Description

The aim of this multi-disciplinary field school is to give students a basic grounding in naturalist analysis and to introduce them to the environmental professions. In the field of geology, this first field school organized at the beginning of the year aims to introduce and illustrate the basic principles of geology. In the field of ecology, it provides an opportunity to illustrate the concepts of ecology covered in class, notably the notion of succession and ecological gradient, by studying the ecological factors governing the distribution of plant communities. In the field of water science, this field school is devoted to hydrology. It provides an introduction to watershed hydrology in the Pyrenees.
Minimum skills to be acquired: Familiarize students with practical methods of geological, ecological and hydrological analysis of the natural environment, and understand its complexity.
