Description

Master the concepts of digital cartography and the associated tools for characterizing and monitoring environmental issues. The tools used to represent spatialized information are based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. Cartographic uncertainty will also be addressed to enable a more realistic spatial analysis of observed environments. Several environmental applications will be implemented in practical work and projects using ARCGIS, ENVI and R software.

The module aims to develop the following skills:

  • Drawing up specifications for digital cartography
  • Draw up hazard and vulnerability maps;
  • Analyze and process single-date and multi-date satellite images;
  • Produce maps using supervised classification methods for satellite images;
  • Processing temporal images for change detection mappingme,t.
