Description
The aim is to apply the basic knowledge of aquatic ecology acquired in previous modules to applied field monitoring and activities. The module consists of an overview of the various professional activities of a hydrobiologist (field protocols, data processing, valorization of results? ), with a focus on bioindication. The module includes the participation of several external professionals (managers and researchers) working on different biological groups (fish, macroinvertebrates, macrophytes). A field day and tutorials complete the module.
Skills to be acquired : - Choose the right analytical method depending on the biological group to be investigated
- Master the collection and processing of physico-chemical and biological data
- Know how to calculate the biological indices used in bioindication depending on the context
- Develop a critical sense with regard to the results depending on the context
- Understand the interactions between disciplines to analyze a complex natural system
- Understand and analyze a scientific text in English.
