Description
The aim of this specialization is to train multi-skilled engineers capable of designing composite and metal structures, from material selection to the process. The course will also provide the knowledge and calculation tools needed to dimension structures at different scales, and to understand the influence of fluid mechanics and, more generally, of transfer phenomena in processes and the use of materials. In addition to dimensioning and design, the learner will also develop skills related to the behavior of materials in real-life situations, whether by analyzing the reliability of structures, the fatigue and aging of materials, or the behavior of materials subjected to external stresses such as vibration. The specialization will combine theoretical knowledge, learning advanced experimental practices such as non-destructive testing, use of calculation tools, active project-based learning, and will be supervised by academic or industrial experts. Particular attention is also paid to the environmental impact of materials and processes, through the use of multi-criteria impact analysis tools such as life cycle assessment, an essential tool for eco-design.
