Description
The teaching of Fluid Mechanics is centered on the modeling of physical phenomena associated with fluid flows in various situations: compressible, turbulent, rotating, etc. This modeling corresponds to a re-formulation of a real problem into a "model". This modeling corresponds to a re-formulation of a real problem into a "model" considered as a set of hypotheses and approximations leading to a system of equations representative of the phenomenon. The engineer's objective is to correctly understand the mechanisms that lead to a simple, effective and industrially usable model. The course is organized in such a way as to present the global problem of fluid flow from the representative Navier-Stokes equations, and then to describe the various approximations and degeneracies used for modeling.
