Thermodynamics basics:
Perfect gas law, equations of state, entropy, enthalpy
isentropic transformations, compressible and incompressible flows, Hugoniot's theorem

Contents
Operation of gas turbine-based machines (Turbojet, turbofan, turboprop, turboshaft)
Engine constitution and operating principles
Recognition of components on cross-sections
Study of technological solutions for guideways, vibration damping, lubrication, sealing, cooling, active clearance control.
Performance and maintenance of machines
Knowledge of pumping phenomena
Reactor regulation and anti-pumping devices
Adjustments and maintenance in operational condition
TP1 : Assembly/disassembly of a turbojet
TP2 : Performance calculation of a turbofan
Teaching method
Online courses on Moodle. Face-to-face sessions are devoted to answering students' questions and applying concepts to case studies.
Practical work is followed by an experimental report and/or oral presentation.
