Objectives
This course provides an understanding of the operation of aircraft navigation and piloting instruments.
Skills acquired

Know the aircraft vocabulary
Know the units used in aeronautics and aircraft sensors related to the earth's atmosphere
Know how on-board instruments work
Identify the on-board systems in an aircraft, the control and measurement systems and the associated communication protocols, measurement systems and associated communication protocols
Identify the radiofrequency systems communicating with an aircraft and the characteristics of the signals used
Communicate and work in a team Lead and direct a work unit or project group

Basic physics and mechanics

Contents

Introduction to aeronautics and aerology: aeronautical measurement systems and aircraft vocabulary and radionavigation systems: VOR, ILS, GPS, XPDR, ADF, DME, ADS-B... .
On-board instrumentation: anemometry and gyroscope,
Sensors and measurement and display principles: pressure, temperature, magnetic field, incidence, navigation unit... .
