Description

You will design and implement a digital architecture using the Digilent NEXYS board provided. The digital architecture developed will have to perform functions that you will have defined yourself with your supervisor.

As a minimum, these functions must "enable" you to implement :    

  • A finite-state machine,
  • A user interface with inputs and outputs:
    Examples of inputs: switches, push-buttons, serial link with computer, sensor...
    Examples of outputs : single LEDs, 7-segment displays, tricolor LEDs, audible signal, serial link to computer, VGA display, OLED text display, actuator...
          
  • The minimal 8-bit processor with four instructions developed in the EN217 module

Main objectives of the project :


Develop a system that synthesizes the experience gained in practical sessions on VHDL and digital circuit synthesis.
Independently apply development, debugging and validation methods.
Evaluate your ability to carry out a project with method and rigor: from writing specifications to validation through testing.
