Further information
Physical sensors in biotechnology:
Basic sensor categories: temperature sensors (thermocouples, thermistors), flow sensors (volume and mass flowmeters for gases and liquids), pressure sensors (strain gauge, piezoelectric crystal, capacitance variation), foam level sensors (capacitive probe, conductive probe, thermal probe), optical detectors (CCD and CMOS technology, photomultiplier).
Physical-chemical sensors (pH, PO2, CO2),
biomass measurement,
gas analysis,
gas balances.
