Description
The aim of this module is to introduce the basic concepts and tools of statistics. The course is divided into three parts. In a first short section, statistical terminology will be introduced through the notions of statistical model (standard or Bayesian), sample, statistics, etc., then in a second more substantial section, the construction and characterization of estimators will be studied. Time permitting, basic notions of statistical testing will also be presented in a third part. TD sessions will be devoted to exercises linked to the course, while TP sessions will be devoted to an introduction to statistical learning (machine learning) through a concrete application problem.
