Presentation

Engineers graduating from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Cognitique are multi-skilled scientists in information sciences, knowledge sciences, for humans, machines and their interfaces, namely :

  • Information sciences - artificial intelligence, computer science, automation and modeling...
  • Knowledge sciences - ergonomics, cognitive neuroscience, HMI, human sciences...
  • Engineering methods - project management, business law, English...

ENSC engineers are scientific experts in the fields of human factors, cognitive uses of technology and human/system integration.

Cognitive engineers specialize in the automatic processing and provision of knowledge, and its technological use, by and with technology, to help, supplement or enhance human cognitive capacities.

Objectives

The first two years of training are organized around teaching themes: Cognitics specialization, scientific foundations, general training and corporate training. Several projects, such as the transdisciplinary project (1A), the transpromotion project (1A and 2A) and the individual IT project (2A), enable students to put their acquired knowledge into practice... Numerous exchanges with industry professionals are organized (speakers from the world of industry, conferences, company visits, ENSC business club, etc.).

Year 3 is organized into specialization tracks (augmentation and autonomy, artificial intelligence, hybrid cognitive systems and robotics and learning), with the participation of industry professionals. Each specialization also includes a final year project (PFE). In partnership with higher education establishments, modules are also offered to open up to the socio-economic world or the world of research.

Three internships, each lasting a minimum of 9 months (up to a maximum of 13 months), enable gradual immersion in a company in France or abroad.

Courses

Introductory course, end of 1st year

Minimum 4 weeks (maximum 12 weeks from early June)

The 1st year internship is an introduction to the company. It can take many different forms. In particular, it should enable the student engineer to identify one or more issues related to his or her future career as a cognitive engineer.

Application internship, end of 2nd year

Minimum 12 weeks (maximum 16 weeks from early May)

The aim of this internship is to apply the student's knowledge in a technical context, focusing on a problem related to cognitics.

End-of-studies internship, at the end of 3rd year

5 months minimum (6 months maximum from early February)

For the student, the aim is to perfect their engineering knowledge by putting them into action in the context of a cognitics-related problem. This internship is designed to prepare engineering students for their integration into professional life.
